Journeying to the depths of their creativity and their imagination to find something greater than themselves.

Belief.

To believe in something. Its like waking from a dream before you realize that none of it was real. What’s missing? Truth. The only constant. The only thing they seek to find. The only thing they won’t embrace.

OBAMA TO SAY IT IS TIME TO DIVIDE JERUSALEM: No, Mr. President, it’s not.

I’m horrified by reports this morning that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.

No, Mr. President, it is not.

Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map. Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen. Already, the Radicals believe Israel is doomed to destruction. Hearing that the American President is now ready to apply intense pressure against the Israelis to divide their capital will only embolden the Radicals and convince them further that Allah is on their side, the wind is at their back, and they will soon triumph over the Jews and Christians.

While I am not surprised by where the President is headed, I am horrified nonetheless. Right at the moment when the U.S. and Israel need to be working with Arab states in unity against the Iranian nuclear threat, this White House is systematically turning against Israel. Despite all the smiles and boilerplate rhetoric from senior administration officials over the last few days that Prime Minister Netanyahu has been in town — promising to stand with Israel and maintain her security — what the administration is actually advancing in terms of policy is dangerous and destabilizing. They are playing with fire, and they must be publicly and peaceably challenged and resisted.

I am committed to doing everything I possibly can to educate people — and particularly U.S. and Canadian evangelical Christians — to the threats facing Israel and the West due to Radical Islam, and to the biblical responsibility we have to show unconditional love and unwavering support to Israel and the Jewish people. We’ll use radio, TV, the internet, emails and other media to get the word out. But we can’t do it alone. We want and need your help.

One idea: let’s build an alliance of one million true friends of Israel — people who love Israel, are committed to blessing her in real and practical ways, are absolutely opposed to dividing Jerusalem, and will pray faithfully for the peace of Jerusalem and the protection of all the people of the epicenter. If each of us recruited just 10 new friends to sign up for Flash Traffic and be part of this alliance, we would be able to communicate new information, new projects, and new prayer requests to them instantly. Let me be clear: I love the Israeli people. I also love the Palestinians. I want the Israelis to be able — by God’s grace — to live in safety, security and peace. At the same time, I want the Palestinians to be able to govern themselves and to live in autonomy and peace. But I strongly oppose dividing Jerusalem. I strongly oppose the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state that would endanger the very existence of Israel. I am not convinced that Mahmoud Abbas is a partner for peace. I know for certain that Hamas will never make peace; they are committed only to terror, bloodshed and the annihilation of Israel. What’s more, I submit that the last three “land for peace” offers that Israel has made to her neighbors — at Camp David in 2000 when Israel offered half of Jerusalem, 93% of the West Bank, and all of Gaza; in 2000 when Israel unilaterally withdrew from southern Lebanon; and in 2005 when Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza — have been absolute disasters for the Jewish State. All three initiatives triggered more war, not peace. They triggered waves of suicide bombers and tens of thousands of rockets, missiles and mortars against Israel. Why in the world would we think continuing down the same road with the same strategies will produce different and better results?

The Bible says in Zechariah 1:14-18, “So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, “I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion. But I am very angry with the nations who are at ease; for while I was only a little angry, they furthered the disaster.” Therefore thus says the LORD, ‘I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it,” declares the LORD of hosts, “and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.”‘ Again, proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, “My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem.”‘”

This is good news. The God of Israel will neither sleep nor slumber. He is jealous for Jerusalem. He will defend His country, His city, and His people. But He expects us to do our part. And He promises in Genesis 12:1-3 that if we bless Israel, He will bless us.

sponsoring a child…

For many years I have wanted to sponsor a child through Compassion International. From the day I first heard about the ministry I told myself, and others, that one day I would sponsor a child. I had prayed for years that God would allow me to be able to do this financially. And now, for the first time I have the ability to do it!

I am so excited and have spent the past couple of days on the website. I have browsed through every child thats listed and have found myself overwhelmed and excited yet at the same time heartbroken. There were so many children that in my head I kept hearing them each saying, “Why not me?” “Please choose me!”. One child had been on the list for six months and had not been sponsored yet. I have since gone back to look for him and find him again but he wasn’t on the list anymore. My prayer is that someone else decided to sponsor him.

I am now in the praying stage of this process. This has been a desire of my heart for a long time and I believe that there is a specific child that God wants me to sponsor. I desire to be sensitive to His leadership. Right now I only have the money to pay for six months but I am praying that God will provide for me the money to continue sponsoring the child after the six months are over.

Please help me pray about which child God wants me to sponsor! I am so excited about pouring into a life who otherwise might not have a chance to hear about Jesus, be properly educated, or be provided for medically.

A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the US mainstream media who abandoned
any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere.

A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements
as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.

Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.

A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers’ unions
to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.

A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity,
failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation.

A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.

Global warming activists stormed Washington Monday for what was billed as the nation’s largest act of civil disobedience to fight climate change — only to see the nation’s capital virtually shut down by a major winter storm.

Schools and businesses were shuttered, lawmakers cancelled numerous appearances and the city came to a virtual standstill as Washington was blasted with its heaviest snowfall of the winter.

It spelled about six inches of trouble for global warming activists who had hoped to swarm the Capitol by the thousands in an effort to force the government to close the Capitol Power Plant, which heats and cools a number of government buildings, including the Supreme Court and the Capitol.

The snowy scene, with temperatures in the mid-20s, was reminiscent of a day in January 2004, when Al Gore made a major address on global warming in New York — on one of the coldest days in the city’s history.

Protest organizers said about 2,500 people braved the blizzard to oppose greenhouse gas emissions, but the shroud of snow wasn’t the only wet blanket in the nation’s capital Monday.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called on the architect of the Capitol to stop burning coal at the power plant last week, cancelled her appearance at the rally because her flight to Washington was cancelled.

Michelle Obama canned a public “Read Across America” event and HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan canceled a meeting with the Democratic Caucus because the members of Congress couldn’t get to D.C. An honor cordon at the Pentagon for Afghanistan’s defense minister also had to be called off.

Some protesters couldn’t make it as dozens of flights in the area were delayed or called off, and some couldn’t face the dangerous roads or blustery weather, leaving hundreds safe, if sorry, back at home.

One protester named Kat had planned to get arrested and be bailed out Monday but decided to stay put and donate her money to a good cause instead.

“I don’t want to travel in the snow today. However, I am donating my bail money to fight mountaintop removal,” she wrote to the Climate Action Web site.

Even marchers in gloves and parkas were wringing their hands to stay warm, and some protest leaders were having trouble providing updates on blog sites like Twitter.

“I admit, it’s hard to tweet with cold hands!” wrote the author of the Capitol Climate Action Web site, who said the activists were “staying warm with a chant: ‘Clean coal is a dirty lie.’”

The plant has been seized as a symbol of the government’s energy excess, and the 99-year-old facility accounts for a third of the legislative branch’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Protesters gathered earlier Monday in the Spirit of Justice Park near the Capitol and marched a few blocks to the power plant, where D.C. police set up a careful cordon.

In a press release supporting the protest, Greenpeace wrote that “coal is the country’s biggest source of global warming pollution” and that “burning coal cuts short at least 24,000 lives in the U.S. annually.”

On a blustery, frigid day, it might be worth noting the government’s own stark numbers: pneumonia kills twice as many each year.

The Downfall Of Democracy

This is a very interesting article found on the website www.apatheticvoter.com. Now I am not an apathetic voter but I found this article to be extremely thought provoking.

“Rarely have democracies survived beyond 200 years. Why do democracies fail? Two of the major reasons are: 1) democracies generally progress through an initial period from bondage to spiritual faith escalating to the point where the citizens become totally dependent on the government to where they eventually revert back to bondage, and 2) once the democracy shows signs of prosperity, citizens vote themselves generous bounties from the public treasury. Does this not sound familiar? Is democracy only a temporary and marred refuge until social engineers miraculously discover the ultimate solution?

Democracy, or the form used in the United States and most advanced countries, representative democracy or a republic, seems to be the best method social engineers have concocted to date to afford people an opportunity to have a voice in their government. The world continues to be overrun with dictatorships, socialist governments, a few communist governments, and Islamic theocracies. We can argue the merits of democracy versus the alternatives, but at this point in history, most authorities on the subject recognize that democracy has proven to be the best solution ever tried on the planet. The United States is not the first successful democracy in the world. Over 2,500 years ago, the people of Athens, Greece created a true democratic form of government that lasted for nearly 200 years but was eventually destroyed not by the people but by a military overthrow by a powerful neighbor. On the negative side, they kept slaves in much the same manner as in the days of our fledgling democracy. The most intriguing aspect of the Athenian democracy was that the people voted directly on every issue that affected their lives. Politicians, or so-called representatives of the people, did not exist.

Although the origin of the “Downfall of Democracies” is often attributed to Alexander Tytler, a Scottish history professor who lived in the 1700s, the origin of the material below may be attributed to Alexander Tytler, or even Arnold Toynbee, or Lord Thomas Macaulay. Whoever can lay claim to the study of democracies that had existed until that time had remarkable conclusions. He had this to say about democracy in general, “A democracy is always temporary in nature: it simple cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority will always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

Does this sound familiar? With almost one-third of all Americans feeding at the public trough, its only a matter of time before everyone receives some form of benefit and henceforth, the entire country will crash and burn with most likely a military dictatorship filling the void.

The professor went on to say: “The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

q From bondage to spiritual faith;

q From spiritual faith to great courage;

q From courage to liberty;

q From liberty to abundance;

q From abundance to complacency;

q From complacency to apathy;

q From apathy to dependence;

q From dependency back into bondage.”

Does this not sound familiar! We’ve gone from being overtaxed slaves of King George of England, to a new republic that accepted any religious faith, to a wonderful new country with a brilliant constitution, to being the richest country in the world, to today over 50% of the voters are apathetic to politics, to where a major portion of Americans are literally demanding government benefits, to eventually losing all of our freedoms (just read some sections of the Patriot Act). Many people now believe that we are now at the “apathy to dependence” phase of the professor’s theory with over 30% of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.”

Very interesting. Consider America where are heading!

something to think about when deciding who to vote for…

There are so many issues to think about in deciding who will best handle the role of Commander and Chief of our nation. There is one issue (out of so many) that I want focus on in this particular blog. I would like everyone to watch a video. This was a video taken during a Muslim parade in New York. The city shut down Madison Avenue in order for this parade to take place. Keep in mind that this would never have been allowed for a Christian parade, or a Jewish parade. I do want to provide a disclaimer. There is some strong language and a few graphic photos but I think people need to see what is happening. I’ve heard from so many that the Muslims are really a peaceful people and that violence and hatred is only in the extreme sects. This video shows differently. Its no longer about religious equality, and tolerance. This is about territory and world conquest and people need to be aware of this.

As far as the elections go we really need to be concerned with how the candidates will handle relationships with other countries. We are turning a blind eye to what is really going on in Iran and the things that their president, Ahmadinejad, is saying. Barack Obama wants to “talk” and “negotiate” with Iran. Iran wants to wipe us and Israel off the face of the earth. President Ahmadinejad is not a man to be negotiated with. This man who calls us “The Great Satan” wants nothing more than to see us and more importantly Israel disappear. He has no regard for peace treaties and would do ANYTHING to further his cause which includes lying to our face. And now this dangerous alliance that is forming between Iran, Russia, and Libya is something we as believers need to be paying close attention to. (Read Ezekiel 38-39)

Now more than ever we as believers need to be ON OUR FACES praying for our country. We need to be praying dilligently for our own wisdom in choosing the next President and we need to be praying for the wisdom our future leaders. PLEASE pray about who you need to vote for. Look beyond your own circumstances and beyond the here and now and look at the big picture. For those who are indecisive and really care about who God would have in office, PRAY for wisdom. We need to start caring about the things that will really matter and about the well being of our country.

Over the weekend I read an article in the news paper about another bombing somewhere over seas. This particular event killed 15 people and injured many others. What bothered me the most about reading it was how it just didn’t seem to phase me. It was another story about another bombing that killed less people than probably many of the other bombings that have happened around the world. Before I moved on to the next article I stopped and asked myself, “why are you so unaffected by this?” 15 people were now dead and yet I was so calloused because it is just nothing new anymore. News like this is no longer shocking. Between news and television we see death every day of our life. And its not just death its brutality that we allow ourselves to be exposed to.

Then I got on Foxnews.com and read and article this morning about a 17 year old in England who jumped to his death from a multi-story building after spectators egged him on making comments such as, “How far can you bounce?” and “Get on with it!”. After the young man jumped the spectators took pictures of the body.

This story is absolutely sickening! Yet in our world today death and brutality is entertainment. We are no longer able to separate reality from what happens on television or in the movies. To go even further we are no longer satisfied with the make believe. We as a culture now crave the next level of entertainment and that is reality. We no longer regard the sanctity of human life.

In the past few week I have become convicted of my own desensitization not just with violence and death but with immorality. My prayer is that God will restore innocence back into my life. I want to be offended again by the things that offend God.

Romans 1:18-32

“For the wrath of god is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about god is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchange the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four footed animals and crawling creatures.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason god gave them over to degradign passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, adn in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts adn receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, withouth understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.”

indiana for the weekend…

So my mom and I are headed to Indiana for the weekend. My mom was asked to speak at a women’s retreat and I am going to be leading the worship. This will be my first time to actually be the worship leader for any particular event and I am really excited. I am also extremely excited to get to hear my mom teach. She is a very wise woman and a woman I believe to be a gifted speaker. This being my first time to actually plan and lead worship I am not sure what to expect. There certainly is an element of the unknown that can often times be uneasy but I am so excited to see what God has got planned for the weekend.

Please be in prayer for the both of us this weekend as we both attempt to bring glory to God through worship and teaching. It is a constant struggle for me to keep my focus on the calling of my life. Not being called to worship ministry but being called to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior and to bring glory to His Name through my life. My prayer is also for the women we will be ministering to. I pray that God is preparing their hearts and ours alike so that His Glory will manifest itself in the way He intends.
